Sen. James Inhofe doesn’t think humans’ actions can affect their environment

Climate Change

“Well actually the Genesis 8:22 that I use in there is that ‘as long as the earth remains there will be springtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night.’ My point is, God’s still up there. The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous.”

 – Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works

Senator Inhofe does not have a background in climate science, however, he does have $1,671,521 in contributions from the oil and gas industries, with the number one contributor being the Koch brothers

The senator seems to forget the affects of sulfur dioxide creating acid rain, as well as chlorofluorocarbons (CFS) causing ozone depletion, both of which have had substantial effects on our climate.

He says that it is arrogant to believe that our actions can affect the climate based on his ideology, whereas others argue that assuming that we can abuse our environment without consequence is much more arrogant, selfish and careless.

Remember, he is a member for the congressional committee that discusses policy related to the environment.
